No letter but I was asked to relocate to an office (I don’t currently live within 50 miles of one). I agreed and am currently waiting on facilities. No one else that I know in this position agreed.
get back to office or you gonna get hocked!
There's RTO and then there's relocation. This sounds more like the 2nd. Typically, relocation comes with a "package", 25-100K to help you cover moving expenses.
If you want to have the best chance to keep your job, get back in to the office, do your job well and keep your head down!
Hock is old school, he said it on his first coffee talk, office working is where it’s at. You can argue the what’s and the whys, he is the boss man and what he says goes in this company, end of. He has his lines of doom and office attendance charts, stay out of trouble on both and you’ll be fine. You’re only asking for trouble by staying at home,
The industry landscape as whole for remote working is shifting rapidly with most companies now moving to mandated 3 days a week and some even going back to full time office working.
If you’re not gonna get in line then don’t be shocked when it doesn’t go your way later. Yes it’s cr-p that people adjusted their lives based on BS promises of the last regime, but that’s gone now. It’s sad, and I feel for people but it’s a cr-ppy tough world out there.
Oh, and it hasn’t been GSS for many years,, it’s just GS!
This is the way!
I was asked to go to a BC office within fifty miles but not to relocate to CO.Thanks
