A long list with all laid off people in the same day? Layers?

Are Recent joiners targeted?
I'm hearing of ad-hoc people being laid off this week. A person here and there. Not leadership, individual contributors.
Are there people already being laid off? Anybody knows?
Additional layers would mean more anxiety for those who remain..
Emails for laid off people and then announced layers is my bet.
