RTO is a money play, has nothing to do with benefit of the people, communication among teams or ANYTHING like that.
Many cities give HUGE tax breaks to companies that ahve more than 60% (or so) occupancy in their buildings within the city limits. If less than that, no TAX breaks.... the cities do this because they assume that the workers in those buildings will spend money around town, after work, lunch, etc and provide revenue to the surrounding businesses.
THIS is a FACT. and the ONLY reason that MSD turned around on his remote work policy and said FU to folks that were hired with 4 hours away from the nearest office....
Wasn’t walking the halls…. They pulled number of quotes being created on days people were in the office vs when they weren’t. Sellers weren’t creating quotes when working from home, only while in the office.
If you think it was Scannell's idea you are wrong. MSD walked halls and didn't like that sales teams weren't there. Anything to do with return to office mandates are all MSD. He doesn't care if you get mad and leave. He wants you to leave. He wants to downsize the company to 90K. So, if you leave, he doesn't have to pay you to go.
Scannell is counting the days until he f**ks off to retirement. Good riddance.
