No surprise. NASDAQ even had a story about NDVIA try to compete with QCOMM to buy Intel

Even though quite a few people will be affected by the merger if happens, it seems to be the most sensible way to go for the part of Intel that still carries some value.

Seems like an Intel x86 design guy is posting today.

AMD's first move would be to get rid of the CCG management, particularly the upper ones, and keep the ICs.

@rq... correct. This is the same reason Intel never squashed AMD when their market cap was 3% of Intel's. You need to have some competition or fall under the scrutiny of a monopoly. AMD is probably quite happy to just erode Intel's market share in both client and server on their own. It would truly be a waste of their hard earned $20B.

It’s worth it IF only for the fact that AMD would sh----n every single useless VP and the middle mismanagement losers beneath them. Personally don’t think it will happen. Still see Qualcomm swooping in and buying x86 design, and possibly Samsung buying the foundry.

The gubment may want AMD to save their investment in FABs.

This would form a monopoly on x86. No way DOJ would allow it.

AMD does not need CCG. Why bother buy the trouble and polluted env and junk? AMD is not as d-mb as Intel leaders. No one will sink with Intel. LOL.

One way of getting rid of your competition is to purchase them, then fire them all.
I'd do that if I were AMD.
