I'm hearing reports from different teams that HR is actively running badge swipe details and specifically calling out non-compliance related to RTO. Anyone else hear about this happening with your team?
It's unbelievable to me that random employees are perfectly fine working full-time remote because they moved away from an office during the pandemic. The people who didn't move are forced back into the office with "big brother is watching" type enforcement. As others have mentioned, this feels like a setup to terminate employees vs. paying a severance package in a layoff.
Schwab has always been a haven for low performance check collector staff but at least you had some mix of high performers in STS. At this point, everyone is viewed as a clock-in / clock-out burger flipper.
The word on the street used to be that Schwab was an excellent place to work. Now, it's a very large slow food joint (it can't be fast food because it takes 15 approvals to build a burger). I'm waiting for my manager to walk by my desk and say: "Clock out and take a break. We will call you at your desk after the complete month of November change freezes. Go clean the bathrooms and put out the "closed for cleaning" sign every hour for some excitement" Ha! Incredible.
