Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

I can't believe we're still open

Every year, the surge in foot traffic at my store would have started by now, but this time it's not happening. It’s been slowing down for years, but this drop is the worst I’ve ever seen. Barely anyone even comes into the store anymore. I hate to say it, but I’m not sure we’ll make it through the holidays.

I’m just a customer and I used to like going to Macys but it’s so messy, especially if I wander into Last Act, that it’s overwhelming. I don’t like going there anymore and I used to love it, especially at Christmas time.

Store traffic is down because people care more about sports, family gatherings, concerts, dining with friends, and traveling. Macy’s is the last thing on their mind.

At my store, just north of Georgia, it feels like they have the heat on, it's almost suffocating, although the temperature outside is in the high 70s to low 80s. I'm like, aren't we supposed to at least make it cooler inside so maybe people might even consider buying cold weather stuff? We did have a week of cool weather last week but who decided to keep the heat on 😩

At Macy’s, crime actually does pay.

In DTLA the shoplifters are on a hot streak! Walking in and out with handfuls of merchandise.

I've been around the block in retail and 1) it's 75+ degrees outside in the Rast and Midwest and no one is interested in cold weather

  1. retail is always wacky around election time
