Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

New leadership needed urgently

How much longer must we suffer under the same leadership mentality? bp cannot promote CEOs from within the company and expect different results. The board needs to fire the whole lot and hire some leaders away from our competitors who know how to run a successful energy company. Otherwise bp will die slowly or be bought.

Die slowly? That train's been and gone and it's not coming back. MA is not leadership material. The only thing I can say positively about him is that he keeps a lower profile than his predecessor. BL bouncing off into the sunset was an ideal opportunity to start afresh with a leader appointed from outside who has no loyalty to any of the LT. An American CEO would have been a positive move. I think the board left it too late to get rid of BL. He should have been out after, say, two years, if indeed he should ever have been appointed in the first place. Has anyone figured out yet what GC actually does other than show off her designer outfits and talk a bunch of word salad?
