I haven’t posted before and I never planned to post, but the repeal of WYW was the last straw for me. I am disappointed, upset, and frankly very angry at. 3M. It is time for all of us at 3M to wake up and admit the truth.
3M DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOU. 3M DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY. 3M DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOUR COMMUNITY. 3M DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY. 3M DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT. ALL 3M CARES ABOUT IS MAKING MONEY PERIOD.
The 3M that cared about you and your community died a long time ago. That company is gone. That company isn’t coming back. I personally mourn its passing, but we need to let it go for our own sake. I will admit that deep down I hoped that part of that great company still existed, but it doesn’t. It was mu---red by incompetence and greed on the part of those “leaders” who were supposed to protect it.
None of what I have said will change anything. What we need to do as employees is move on. Some of us will stay and some of us will leave. Personally I want to leave, but it is dependent upon finding another company. Regardless of your personal choice, just remember that YOU DO NOT MATTER AT 3M AND NEITHER DO I. We are simply resources the company uses to make money. YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER RAW MATERIAL THAT 3M USES TO MANUFACTURE A PRODUCT AND WHEN THEY ARE DONE WITH YOU OR THEY CAN FIND SOMEONE CHEAPER THEY WILL DISPOSE OF YOU WITH LITTLE REGARD FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE BOTTOM LINE.
It really hurt to say that, but it is necessary to make it real for myself. Please don’t make the same mistake I did by trusting 3M management. Realize that there is no greater good or purpose at 3M. THE COMPANY EXISTS SIMPLY TO MAKE MONEY. Anything else that they do is or say is a carefully planned public relations stunt.
Please look out for yourself and your loved ones, because nobody else, especially 3M, cares about you. I don’t know if it is better anywhere else, probably not, but be honest with yourself about where you work and your value. Stay if you wish, leave if you wish, but don’t think that this company cares about you because it doesn’t.
