Acquired company here, clinician, 30+ years there, perfect record, let go at 60+. Kept on payroll for 12 weeks. That’s it. Rotten company and hope they go down after all the Change lawsuits are paid out. Some of the execs should be in prison.
You had a good run almost made it to the finish line but closer than most. Looks like age and cost did you in. Hmm per the table from sparq looks like they sc--wed you out of 4 weeks severance. wonder how the logic works. powerless to change it of course
I was part of an acquired company, and between that company and Optum, I had 19 years of service— 13 with my company of origin and 6 years with Optum. I got 16 weeks of severance and I was a salaried level 28. I belong to two protected classes as a 65F, and made 105K per year. Nothing to do with my performance, always excellent reviews, but about my age (which they would never own up to as we well know) and my salary. I wanted to make it to 66 and 10 months at a minimum and was hoping I could stay until 70 if I wanted. Nope. I have never had any illusions about my value to the company, no matter what sparkly stuff they would sprinkle in their company meetings. We are all just cogs in a wheel and they are slaves to their shareholders and the stock market price. It was a bad year between their data breach and the money and clients it cost them, so I guess it was to be expected.
A nice additional pat on the back would be for them to carry a year of Insurance. For all we have done.
I am in sales and pay grade 88. For 8.5 years of service I get only 10 weeks. That's nuts.
Same old game nothing new. What land of unicorns are you from if you think executives ever cared. Not seen one yet in my 35 years of working life anywhere.
Optum Tech Indian leaders are betting that the culture is so poor that you’ll want to leave on your own = no severance = $$ labor saving = bonuses for themselves. Executives are only interested in shareholder value. Gone are the days of leaders who take stock of employees with compassion. Majority Indian workers, less middle class in the U.S., overwork/underwork and frustrating convoluted processes are all by design. How long can you hold until next rifts start again?
