Has anyone who was laid off returned to the company ? Was the new job better pay or the same as the previous job ? I would be very afraid to return to the company since it looks like you will get laid off again.

They have cut salary for 110s by 20k - 30k. So if you quit and try to come back you won't get the same salary.
I noticed the hourly jobs are less by 10-20 dollars than they were last year.
For salary and hourly all the vendors have slashed the pay as well.
You may not find anything better for healthcare unless you get in with the companies that didn't take a hit with utilization and picked up renewals or new contracts for the next five years.
"I was Sr Mgr till 3 weeks ago. .."
If you stay, This year alone you will lose whatever your severance is plus 20-25% of what your pay was. Lets say you get a 10 week severance (10/52= 19%), plus the payout for any time out you had, plus the 20-25% less in pay, means you might take a hit equal to 50% of your yearly if you stay.
Without knowing any other factors (like your need for a medical plan, or your true severance, or your local job market), I would lean towards not staying and trying to find a spot outside the company. Get on linked in and talk to recruiters there to see if you can get something outside the company even at 20-25% less than your current pay.
Senior Manager: do what is best for you. I chose to move on and save the severance. The pay may be less at a new position as a new employee. It just depends. I was able to land something 7 months later at equal pay.
The job market is tough, but if you’re open to being flexible you’ll be fine. Honestly I miss the work I did and my coworkers at CVS/Aetna, but I don’t miss the turmoil. I have finally reached the point that I’m relieved I was part of the big layoff last year and have all that behind me.
Best of luck!
Some job is better than no job. So take whatever job you can get and try to find something better outside of CVS
I was Sr Mgr till 3 weeks ago.
Applying to similar positions in other Aetna groups...but recruiters are telling me the salary is 20-25% less than what I made..... Currently getting my current salary as pay and then same for severance, but if I interview and accept these aetna roles, the pay will be cut down by 20-25% ....
No interview calls outside yet.
So confused on how to approach this ugly situation!!!!
For those saying why come back, because people got bills to pay that’s why. Yeah it’s not ideal but it’s better than telling your kids that you have to sell the house and move in with the in-laws.
Why? Because it's my kind of chaos and I like the challenge and familiarity. I know the cards that are dealt and I like that chances. Somewhere else doesn't mean better necessarily. It's also the nature of this industry. If you can't handle it then get out and stay out
Yeah if you can get severance and an increase in pay why not stay in the company. Then rinse and repeat again and again.
I know 3 people who were laid off last year personally. All 3 had job offers for a promotion before their final day…1 said “no thanks” and walked away from CVS the other 2 took the job offer and had their first day be literally the day after separation.
They got severance and a promotion 2 months vacation.
While I still had to work and got a shot raise. I was pi---d but happy for them.
I know of one person. Everyone else could not find anything internally or moved on.
Wow...who in their right mind would want to return to a company that kicked you to the curb and is in rapid decline??
Yes!! I was brought back after being laid off.
I resigned twice, and laid-off once. Each time I came back I made more money and a better position. I didn't even bother looking elsewhere. I am a die hard Aetna fan. Despite these last three years being the worst operationally I still want to work at Aetna. I still have hope for a come back.
Although them taking our bonus and non existent pay raises, I do see a lot of talent leaving. A lot of them have gone to our competition which I don't blame them.
Returned to better pay.. want to be layed off again!
