At the moment, I am employed by Aetna Medical Economic Unit (MEU for IFP/Commercial). If I put in my two-week notice and tell them that I am leaving for Cigna or Unitedhealth, would I likely be asked to leave right away and log out of my computer the next few days? I've been told similar things in the past, but I just want to verify them. This is my preferred option because I would still be paid for the 2 weeks—it's just that I won't be able to log in.

I left the company a few months ago and went to another carrier. Despite my director aggressively pressing me to answer, I did NOT tell them where I was going (none of their business) but I admittedly had a conscious and didn’t want to look like a liar to I revealed it was a competitor. I wasn’t able to fulfill my two weeks but I was able to stay for two more days since I had planned PTO for two days afterward anyway. Shipping labels were sent to me. I was paid for all of my unused PTO (confirm with HR what that’ll be or look at your pay stubs) and I was paid up to my last day worked.
Some ppl are paid thru the last day of their 2 week notice but again, that depends on the circumstance and how much info you disclose
Do you have a non compete agreement?
I've been silent quitting for over a year. I bought a mouse mover from Amazon so it looks like I'm always at my desk. Right before meetings, i send the organizer an email that I have a conflict and won't be able to attend. One hour at the end of the day, I answer any emails that come in by referring them to someone else who can better answer their question. I'm lucky if I get a 30-minute 1:1 every month with my manager. My agenda items cover the same topics. She's probably doing the same thing.
@wqj+1v6NdbGN. Are you juggling 2 fulltime remote jobs? Conflicts meeting?
Just take the other job and collect a check from CVS in the meantime.. if you are remote this will work out great.. i've been working somewhere else full time for 3 years and no one is the wiser.. mainly because CVS is a disaster..
Do NOT state where you are going. Do not give out your plans to others. Just give a general two weeks notice. If your supervisor or colleague presses you asking where you will go join just state that you are taking few weeks off to spend time with your family and look for a position next year.
I would say that you should stay and make them lay you off. Then you get severance and can look for a job during that time.
If you go to a competitor the company asks you to leave immediately and pays you through the two week period.
Thank you! @pnh+1v6NdbGN!
I've quit twice and come back three times. From both of my two weeks notice both hiring managers made me not talk to anyone and logged me out of my Aetna profile the next day after giving notice. They both sent me to my personal email account the shipping labels. And yes I was paid up to two weeks and they did reimburse me for any remaining PTO.
I would give notice and not tell them where you’re going. It’s none of their business.
