Why are hybrids impacted over remote

Anyone get why hybrid employees were part of the last WFR and remotes on the team were not?

Anyone who thought by electing Hybrid to save their job was naive.

No difference at all in Remote, Hybrid or Field when it comes to WFR. I'm a manager and had to fire 5 individuals in EMEA (all of them chosen by Sr VP, no difference between Hybrid or Remote - not even opening a report on site visits)

""Come FY26, they will give remote employees a the option to come into an office (become hybrid) even if that requires relocation, or lose their job. Non-compliance will be seen as a reason to terminate for cause. No severance required."

"Absolute rubbish"

oh you are misguided....you still believe because you are remote they will give you a package? Please child

Not necessarily true that no severance is required. Where I live this is illegal and they'd be required to offer severance.

Not a lawyer but everyone should look into the laws of their area for stuff like this.

Remote people are already on the slow spiral of being fired when they announced the 5 days rto. No point in laying them off now with severances when they will be fired soon with no severances for not living near an office.

It might also be because hybrid people spend hours in office in line at a coffee and cars event at round rock to avoid doing work haha. In office isn't more productive when they bring cars to have everyone stand in line for hours to look at cars.

"Why would you subjegate yourself to being hybrid"

The wording for remote selection was very cold and punitive: no promotions and career was in jeopardy for restructuring movements. Those who were weak immediately broke for hybrid thinking they would be safe.

The choice was obvious to stay remote to anyone who had deductive reasoning.
With hybrid you were giving up "rights" and positioning for nothing!

They aren't. The vast majority of Dell is STILL remote while the minority is hybrid. Those who went hybrid likely live within 15-20 minutes of an office and, in all honesty... if I did, I wouldn't mind going in every now and then but, I'd still stay "remote" so there is no tracker on my badge.

Those who chose hybrid and are being let go, is likely due to 2 reasons... A) They aren't actually going in 3 days/week and B) are not valuable enough to the company/team.

Why would you subjegate yourself to being hybrid when that only gives Dell an opportunity to target you if you don't meet the hybrid standards? Remotes can go into the office whenever they want but, otherwise are not required to do so.

So, my org had an all hands meeting this morning with both our VP and our C level exec - seperate meetings for some reason...
Someone asked this question and the response was that, 75% of Dell employees ARE remote and those in the hybrid position will be targeted if they aren't going in 3 days/week AND are on the lower end of productivity. Essentially, you were far better off choosing remote because there is no "monitoring" done for you. Hybrid folks ARE being monitored for days in office and it's not gonna look good if you aren't in there 3 days/week.

Doesn't matter, just do what you feel is right way to do your job. Don't run scared.

That’s just not true. I know so many people who were remote that were let go in the last couple of months. It’s all relative. The reality is these cuts are super deep and impact all orgs and people, regardless of their hybrid/remote status.

The lower quality emp are the first to join hybrid. Hide inside the cracks of the buildings hoping to go unnoticed

Them just the facts. It's self preservation

I suspect it's a Last Hired/First Fired thing and recent hires perhaps feeling that because they are new, they must protect their hiring by going remote

Unfortunately most who went hybrid are the ones they don't want. The weak are the first to capitulate. Kiss the boot.

Remotes do not see dell as a long game. They are ready and okay with moving on since they generally are more capable in landing other roles.
