My boss said layoffs are over and we werne't affected, but I think they are just trying to keep people working overtime for free. So they say over half of the 15000 job cuts have been completed through VSP, so adding a generous 8000 VSP to the recently announced 2000 layoffs doesn't add up to 15000. That means there are 5000 more layoffs to go and they haven't even announced the worse Q3 earnings report! My guess is that they will not only wait to layoff the last 5000 within a few months, but it will probably increase to 10000 more layoffs total after the earnings call.

No one is “safe”. Sheesh.
If you were real BB, you would know how to check it. I did checked the book at July 30 and today. ELT was not lying about numbers. Also WARN act adds up, and remember that we have 90+ sites over the world. Number probably will be around 20k.
Definitely agree with the OP. Something isn't adding up and certainly leadership is not being transparent.
When have you met a manager that is not a lier? Lying is a management required skill.

My management team told me that my job was safe, turned out that was not true. They were probably misled as well. Never believe that your job is safe.
Do not believe one word out of his mouth. All of them have lied to us so much that none of one of them can ever be trusted again
I haven't' seen any numbers from overseas, but from what I have heard, they are getting significantly impacted.
