Yes we had some deep cuts that cost us some quality people in my group
But on the whole it was our most effective cut of low performing low impact low passion and capability persons in years
Empathies for life changes
But resolute to try to go on and improve our effectiveness
A few kinds of people left….. people near retirement who know they will face age discrimination when applying for jobs, trying to hang on as long as they can. Number two, younger people who are supporting families who can’t make risky moves, who need to be strategic about their career or else face foreclosure, number 3, H1bs who are stuck, and then forth you got your true blue people who believe in Pat.

This is what happened at Globalfoundries. Now is just a ton of d-mbys
In my group, this layoff was very effective in driving out dead weight and low performers. No talent lost and more effficient going forward.
