18A is going great. It’s the one thing at Intel that’s on track. Y’all aren’t getting your information from a reliable source
Same old story as 10nm. TD hubris is the downfall of Intel.
Please inform government representatives of your observations. Do we really think Intel should be in charge of the fabrication of Americas chips?
If it was superior process then we would be using it for Battlemage..but we are not..we are using TSMC...
Intel has reportedly chosen the world's biggest semiconductor foundry, TSMC, to manufacture its next-generation Battlemage and Celestial GPUs. While the former is set to release in the second half of 2024, the latter is expected to debut in 2026
Too late for what? This company is already sinking fast. The real effects of the brain drain from all of the voluntary separations won't really be felt until Q1. These people haven't even been gone a month yet.
It already is too late. And yes, it is a scam. It is not because of talent in TD leaving. TD has plenty of fat just like the rest of the company. The issue is 18A as defined is simply too complex. Yield will take a lot longer and perf won't be as competitive by the time it is ready. The fat lady who signed up to deliver this is more clueless than a hippo. So all hope is lost at this point. TSMC will have a better N3/N2 and no customer will sign up even with ZERO wafer price.
