If you are a customer and don't wait until EOY or EOQ to buy your software then you don't understand business. Sales drop their pants for customers to get deals in. They pretend to walk away sometimes but lowball them when they need to sell and they will gobble up almost any offer you make. It is the same everywhere. Software. New car. Home Improvement. Everywhere.

Unless you work in Fed and need to spend to keep in the green.

Hmm, fairly sure every single company offers discounts to close business.

35 years in the IT industry and I have never worked at a company that hasn’t.
