Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

LAR

Very sorry to hear about brothers and sisters at LAR. I encourage those of you willing to relocate to consider doing so. I would imagine the cost of living may be quite lower in other states with p66 sites. I realize it is early but do some research and see if that is for you. There are many sites that lack people. My site definitely could use maintenance people. We usually having postings every 3 to 6 months even though we are in desperate need. Good luck my friends.

I used to be so proud to be employed by Phillips. Looking back on the last 10 years of my life at this place, I regret being so “committed” to my job. I look back at how much I truly lost for a place that couldn’t care less about its employees. We are nearly 3 weeks into this and we haven’t gotten ANY of our questions answered by the company. THIS IS A DISGUSTING DISPLAY OF COOPERATE GREED!

Lost for words, the years I have put into this job, and all the life events I have missed to be here to make something of myself. It he commitment, the dedication just to be told that’s it

California's policies notwithstanding, there's been an extra refinery in the LA basin for a long time. I remember when Exxon blew up their ESP and had to shut down, the crack went from negative $13/bbl to positive $108/bbl overnight and stayed >50 until Exxon was back up, months later. Even remember asking Ziemba if P66 was going to do what it took to NOT be the first refinery in the basin to shut down, and he gave me a non-answer about "bring me 30% return projects and I'll approve them all day long" (of course the threshold for small returns is like 75% now).

We've given Chevron, PBF, Marathon and Valero a HUGE boon with this announcement. They're going to be printing money. Honestly probably saved PBF. Wonder if anyone on the ELT bought some stock before the announcement...

Californias liberal policies and hatred of fossil fuels caused this

I’m sure they will offer many jobs to people, knowing the majority won’t relocate.
