Why is a guy who retired and then came back the long term answer as CEO??? Does this company have any long term vision or strategy?

Yea, Karen got fired! David is now the CEO.

I worked under him about 12 years ago. He was my boss's boss so not just a figurehead but someone I met or heard from regularly. He is a sales guy and ran their sales group which does 100s of million sales so not a light weight.

Caremark culture is pretty cutthroat and no doubt David has a lot of that in him. But David is a sales guy not a business reorganization expert.

Keep in mind Joyner retired in 2022 and they brought him back a bit ago to run Caremark. Idea was get an old, known steady hand and keep that part of the business ok while they fix other stuff elsewhere.

So big sales guy now trying to figure out how to fix a company in about 4-5 different business. I don't think that is his strength. Once again a known steady hand for a few already planned cuts to happen. Then they find someone they think can fix the big thing and he retires again.

She was basically told to leave right? Like the emails don’t directly say it but she didn’t even give the standard “I’ve decided to step away in order to spend more time with my family”

Worked under David at Caremark years ago. A good guy, not d-mb BUT he came back from Retirement a bit ago.

Sure not the long term answer to the situation.
