What are you all being told about the merger? Will there be cuts, will direct tv departments have priority over equivalent dish ones if there is overlap? Or is it not seen as a big deal on your side?

DISH engineering will be gutted. DIRECTV engineering will be gutted even more than it is now to bring in the remaining DISH developers.
When DISH customers see their new bill, most will cancel so there will churn is expected to accelerate. My guess is TPG will sell once merger is complete.
Has DISH's q3 call be announced yet?
How early are layoffs likely to happen?
Looks like they are trying to work out the details for the debt holders.
DirecTV loves cuts as only way to keep margins stable so expect layoffs on both sides. Since DirecTV is acquiring Dish...they get seniority. Get the lips puckered as this is where you know how favored and part of the "in-crowd" you are.
Expect deeper cuts before the merger, more after, and more each year to keep profitability up.
