Caremark culture is pretty cutthroat and no doubt David has a lot of that in him. But David is a sales guy not a business reorganization expert.
David is a known steady hand and will take the blame for a few already planned cuts. Then they find someone they think can fix the big thing and then David retires again.
Capital investment will be slashed to bare minimum and all wish list projects will be cancelled. Focus will be on preserving cash and enhancing shareholders value.
Hopefully he eliminates the DEI department and the ESG initiatives.
it's senior mgmt that needs to go. How many SVP's & VP's does a company need? There are not enough lower mgmt to make things happen. They've gotten rid of those that make a difference and left with those that do nothing.
He is going to gut middle mgt and I could see equity only being granted to svp and above going forward. I also think 401k match will be reduced to 4%...going to be real tough times for a few years.

I fully suspect he’ll be running CVS in such a fashion we will be yearning for the KL days….and that says a lot since I’m happy the KL days are coming to an end.
Hopefully he starts with Indian contractors.
