Thread regarding Meta / Facebook layoffs

Meta is laying off employees at WhatsApp, Instagram, and more

Meta has begun laying off employees across various departments, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Reality Labs, according to people familiar with the matter. Rather than a mass, companywide layoff, these smaller cuts seem to coincide with reorganizations of specific teams.

Glad you put on your skepticals on. For Oct job report, most of the job increases occurred in education, health services, leisure and government.

Sectors that added the fewest jobs were in manufacturing, financial services and information technology.

Anyone remember that recent blockbuster job report? JP Morgan announcing that we've achieved a soft landing? CVS still closing even more stores? Boeing laying off thousands of employees still? Stellantis announcing 'permanent' layoffs instead of 'temporary'? Something just isn't adding up here, are we being gaslit or something?
