Min Clinic finances do NOT role up under Retail/PCW. They used to, but not anymore. They role up under HCB segment. This happened well over a year ago.
I know because I’m in finance and worked with MC people before they transitioned out from under retail/PCW.
MC is starting to roll out PCP and has had BH for a while now. Also, MC finances are rolled into retail (pharmacy and front store) because it is not profitable on its own and never has been and that is why MC is never really talked about much at town hall. Just a brief mention here and there.
@ywf+1v2llFlQ At a somewhat recent town hall (within the last year, can't remember exactly) someone asked about Minute Clinic's performance and whether or not the company would continue to expand on Minute Clinic. The speaker sheepishly answered along of the lines of the number of Minute Clinic locations being adequate for market demand.
It's not surprising either with both CVS and Walgreens stores. They both were ghost buildings before COVID-19 and certainly after.
I remember the first two years after the acquisition all the marketing and Karen's townhalls talking about minute clinics and how she was not only bringing PCP providers to every store but behavioral health too. Then after two years all that dropped away in the townhalls and marketing.
IHonestly the townhalls are a blur of bland now. She started shifting to "innovation" talks but still nothing to show for it I think it was a deflection tactic. Something shiny to d-mb townhalls to chew on.
I personally hope Aetna and Caremark distance theirself from old dinosaurs before they become one too.
