Thread regarding Flagstar Bancorp Inc. layoffs

Remote work?

Hello, I am currently interviewing at Flagstar for a Risk & Controls role in HR. This role is advertised as remote-eligible. My question is, for anyone that works at Flagstar, is there an effort at the company to eliminate remote roles? Or transition them to hybrid? If I accept this role, it will be a ~$10k a year pay-cut, but worth it to me to not have to commute 1.5 hours 2x a week. Just want to ensure there are no corporate “initiatives” in the works to pull people back to the office. Thanks I’m advance for your reply.

I have been working remotely at Flagstar for several years and there have been absolutely no return to office initiatives underway. I have not worried about this one bit. Management is much more focused on hiring the best talent. It largely depends on the role so I’d suggest inquiring with the hiring manager.

Flagstar is a sinking ship & is looking to get rid of people. They have sc--wed over the long term people & gotten rid of over 2000 employees in 2 mos time. Stay as far away as possible!!

Don't do it if you are local. Your intuition is correct.

They are looking to get rid of all remote / wfh positions. They do not even like us working from home 1 day a week now.
