Numerous layoffs started today in IT and procurement. Any insight onto what’s going on or assumptions of if a hostile takeover is in effect?

Wow this is accurate - our team was called into a meeting and told we would likely not have jobs within the next two weeks. Sad for a company that has been an anchor in the Toledo area for so long. I just started here 8 months ago and never thought this would happen so soon.

The company set to buy them is absorbing the indirect contracts, indirect procurement and IT work into their organization to save money. Next will be finance, hr and the other functions when they can get to it.
