I was there for the Halloween cubicle decorating contests. I also understand that the OP is referring to the popular, humorous observation that Spirit Halloween stores temporarily pop up in various buildings that are unoccupied due to companies going out of business and that they are using this reference to make a joke about the current state of Nielsen and the GTIC.
I don't think there's a joke/reference here, you'll know that spirit if you where there 5 years ago.
Crazy what is left of this company that think they can get "references" that others can't LOL!

The people that used to do this are so busy a-s-kissing that probably won't have time to celebrate this year :)
