Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Which other bank would you apply to?

That is, if you want to stay in banking after the Truist experience. I decided I want to leave. I’ve been checking into people’s experience with other banks, and it seems that they all are going more or less in the same direction like Truist. Now, the question is if any is at least more bearable and better organized and managed while providing comparable pay. I would take anything that is a little bit of an improvement over working here.

Wells is actually making some really sweet upgrades to their offices- full employee cafeteria that is over than anything I’ve seen AND subsidized so very affordable. Their offices are all being re-done as well. Every floor has a kitchen with free coffee, teas, hot chocolate- it’s actually nice. Bank culture blows everywhere- may as well be someplace that pays better and not having purple everywhere is refreshing

I’m at Wells and have to say although the culture is pretty rough overall it really depends on the team you work with. The pay looks to be much higher at Wells. All banks stink to some degree- you just need to find a good group to work with.

There are plenty of other banks. To act like all other banks are moving in “this” direction is not true.
Most community and regional banks do care about consumer through commercial… because that’s where they make their money and have the capital to participate in.
If you’re in retail maybe a good credit union or true community bank.
To act like all banks are doing what Truist is doing (cutting massively from CSBB through CCB so that they can “play” in the CIB sandbox) is just flat out not true.
I talked to a buddy that is a commercial credit analyst at a regional bank near me and they’re nabbing nice sized business/commercial/mid-market clients left and right from Truist.

If you aren’t in CIB you’d be better off at almost any other bank tbh.

An equal number of people will say that’s the problem with Huntington that it is BBT lite. Too each their own.

Huntinton su-ks. Ppl leaving. Those guys from Truist are all douchebags. Pinnacle is decent, small banks are boring but better to work under. Truist isnt a long term sustainable option. You will go mental w the constant patronizing and treatment as if you are a middle school student. Management also wants you to leave, so do yourself and them a favor and go where you are more appreciated.

Smalltown Bank or Pinnacle. Both make you feel good. Inferior teammates and products but you smile and skip to work.
