I’m torn between needing the job and wishing to be laid off. It’s clear that TD is going nowhere, so there is no point in staying, really. But I need at least a few more months of job search in order to find a replacement that’s decent. Most jobs I’ve been offered so far are not paid well. I got a sense that many companies when hiring these days (if they do) milk the fact that jobless tech is flooding the market.

For certain teams such as PE they are completed is what I believe. For others I am not sure.
They are never completed.
Keep searching and something better will come up. I took a pay cut (~25%) to get out for the sake of my mental health as managers were toxic. It has given me a whole new outlook on life.
If you hang around whilst applying, hopefully the next round of rif's will be timed to suit you. But don't wait around being unprepared for the inevitable as there will be more to come.
