Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Is it just the assumption (a reasonable one)

Or is there substantiated info about corporate layoffs coming around the turn of the year? I wouldn’t be surprised, but if they are really coming, it would be nice to know.

I've been there several times for training. Great team there, but MCCS in Clearwater, FL makes no sense at all.

While it has been discussed for a few years it is becoming increasingly likely that the company will be greatly reducing their MCCS presence in Florida in the next year. The work from home model that many associates are in is failing since they no longer have a site that can house the entire staff. Attendance along with work from home outages are also helping seal their fate. Add this to the disruptions in service lasting multiple days that occur from the many storms that area has suffered through and the writing is on the wall that means most of that work will be moved. Some to offshore call centers and some to Ohio. The small micro sites that support online sales will remain intact.

LY only, I think, 6 stores closed and Macy's went from 4 regions to 3 and eliminated/combines several divisions. With the elimination of 55 doors, you'd have to think that's a pretty good assumption. Buckle up!!
