Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Looking forward to future

I saw on LinkedIn that a former Dell employee who was just let go opened a taco shop/pit room! Another guy from Exxon opened a brewery! Good for them. I'm researching franchises because I hate the idea of looking for another job and would love to start something on my own, with all the quirks and challenges! I have no experience, though, but I'm hopeful. Do you have any suggestions on what types of franchises I should consider? I'm in Texas.

If I had to open something, it would either be a snowcone/froyo shop or a coin operated laundry.

so if you didn't get permission for that business you sold, that business could be a conflict of interest and therefore could be Dell's property.

To you, my disturbed friend Post ID: @sot+1v0cO2ls ,

I don't have franchise experience, but I am definitely not a good fit for Dell. I’m highly educated in two different majors from top universities—not from some weird community college you might have heard of. Out of 25 in the U.S., I’m the only one they still beg to stay (all others have been laid off, and the rest are in other countries). I’ve won the President’s Award several times! During COVID, when work was slow, I started an e-commerce business that was so successful it was acquired by a big brand! I’m financially okay! and intellectually don't fit your dream company!
To summarize: I hate staying at Dell around disturbed and nagging people like you, who are fearful of themselves and their shadows!

Franchises are good - I opened an independent coffeehouse and when all was said and done I spent the same money (and made a lot more mistakes) than if I'd just bought a franchise.

Large franchises usually put you through training so experience may not be needed.
