I'm seeing several different reports here of people who are not "impacted" being notified, I do not recall this ever being the case in previous Intel layoff--not impacted would just mean you don't hear anything at all. What is going on here, were people in some BUs told beforehand they would receive explicit yes/no decision?

Multiple shifts across the week, not going to get done in one day. CPM app for managers opened this morning (Monday), and all the people working today that were selected for ISP have been notified (a few exceptions for leave/vacation/sabbatical) and sent home.
So by 9pm those still working got told in person they are “safe”. The remaining shifts will go through the same thing by Wednesday.
We were told in person rather than by email, and asked not to share with people who were out for whatever reason, including other shifts, specifically because some of them are not safe and will be officially notified whenever they return.
We won’t know until later in the week where those of us left are getting shuffled around to.
This whole thing has been about as “transparent” as solid Tungsten…

My manager told us if we are not notified of ISP by Tuesday evening, we can assume we are safe ( only for this round !!). They were still working out with the HR if they can officially tell us we are not impacted.
My manager: “you’re not impacted, but some on the team are”
Me: “not being impacted at all?”
Manager: “…? No.”
Me: “that’s great news, I was afraid I’d have to take on someone else’s work”
Manager: “…..”
Explicitly telling people they're "not impacted" seems like a mistake, especially when we all know this isn't the last round of layoffs.
At least give people peace of mind if they are not impacted, assuming after the ISP notifications are given.
Yep. According to my manager everyone is explicitly told whether they're "impacted" or not (Source: was impacted)
Yes, it was an explicit message. This was done in my team at Intel during ACT, and again last Aug. Last week, I was again told that actions were taken within my team but I was not impacted. Obviously, lots of other targeted actions have occurred where I wasn’t notified.
