with all the media coverage, having known intel for 10+ years, i am not even motivated to get into campus. is there any chance to enroll for VSP at this point ? anyone had a second thought or am i the only weirdo ?

Sure. Next one is in 2032. Happens like clockwork every 8 years. 2000, 2008, 2016, 2024.....
Long shot - you could ask your manager to ISP you. They'd have to do some manuvering to get you approved etc., but maybe it would save somebody who doesn't want to leave.
If you don't know if you are/were eligible for VSP, CPM-AP, you should probably look harder for a new job.
There will be chances, likely not too long into the future.

Yes, many regretted not taking VSP knowing that the situation is going to be worse, not at all sure if they will receive retirement packages in the next layoffs, the company is in a deep crisis.
