Paul did a fabulous job displaying a callousness that brutal dictators would be proud of, during the company meeting. It’s clear where this company is headed and the employees are NOT the priority.

Yep. Typically CFO turned CEOs in this position act this way. They are in it to save the business and themselves tons of money. That is (bad) business.
Look out for yourselves. Job search, job search, job search. During the day when you are on the clock. They don't care about you, why should you care about them. No extra work for them. Only for the job search.
No need to stress about it, the end is near for most likely half the workforce. Enjoy the ride until late November if not sooner.
