- Cisco chief executive Chuck Robbins made close to $32 million in total executive compensation during 2023, according to the company’s filings.
If he worked a 40 hour week, that is over $15,000 per hour.
So in about seven hours, he is making the annual salary of a $100,000 employee.
So one person $100k person LR'd gives him another days pay!
Is this what corporate America is really becoming?
It's been that way for over 40 years, or for old people like me, an entire career.
I noticed before the stock crashed in 2000 that no one was complaining about receiving stock compensation in excess of $10M to write software so buggy it cost more engineering hours to fix than to write.
I wish an investigative reporting show like 60 minutes, Dateline, or 20-20 would look into the Cisco layoffs. I’m sure I was impacted due to my age yesterday and there’s no early retirement. Cisco is also legally stealing back many of my stock options. What a lousy way to end my career! Is this what corporate America is really becoming? Now friends are celebrating they weren’t hit and I’m getting ghosted and removed from spaces. I’m not even going to try to apply for another job at Cisco as I want out of here now! I’ll miss some of the people, and some of the work. but not this sick culture that Chuck and Fran have created.
