Has everyone been laid off yet?
Have to imagine number of employees left in US numbers in the 100s only at this point

It’s been fun seeing all of the arrogance and egos finally checked when realizing they’re not so special after all when landing outside of the walls of Nielsen.
They’ve all been some of the worst people I’ve ever had to work with, and the humble pie being served now is well deserved. Not an ounce of compassion or empathy for any of them.
The MAWW control continues but is lost to many as people are focused on trying to keep their jobs so they follow blindly. The MAWW’s are blind of their actions as there is no one around to point out how one-sided their discussions tend to be. MAWW asking another MAWW for critical feedback is hilarious.
Working among the people I did at Nielsen for the time I was there, I’ve never met a more arrogant and obnoxious group of people.
The MAWW syndrome is real. From the TL’s to managers to upper management and colleagues, everyone you encountered carried a chip on their shoulder as though they were the most intelligent person on the face of the earth, and every decision in the world was hanging on their every word.
It was funny as most had no real world experience in tech outside of dinosaur Nielsen, so to deal with the arrogance was indeed a special treat. Now that most have been laid off and the reality of lack of talent and non-transferable skills has set in, it’s no wonder why most can’t find a job outside of call centers and lawn crews.
I bet though their arrogance still remains. In the end they’ll be perfect fits for future real estate agents and massage therapists.
Orwell, you may be fine with your current position now, and that's fine. But I will clue you in, Mr. Productivity: no one is safe. All will become redundant, sooner or later. And maybe you will be like me and get a job making more money... or maybe you won't. Maybe you'll realize that your skills are no longer in demand as well... or maybe you're too old... or maybe you're not as great at interviewing as you think you are. Or maybe you come across as smug as your posts here. Whatever.
In the meanwhile, you are selling an offering that is quickly becoming a laughing stock. Tick-tock.
To everyone else, if you are reading this and are still in your role, make plans. You'd be wise to be proactive. It's wild out there, but you can do it.
lmao not liking Nielsen mgmt really winged Nielsen mgmt. Same fool commenting in a row denigrating laid off employees as if the company is hiring the best in India. lmao. I don’t begrudge anyone in India taking a job, this isn’t their fault. Everybody needs to work. But come the fu-k on now. Nielsen is paying peanuts for people there and it shows in how unskilled the tech replacements are. And the truly senior tech candidates in India are refusing the embarrassing low pay offers because they now know their worth and will make more elsewhere. The days of paying senior devs $10,000 a year has been over for quite a while, but upper mgmt at Nielsen can’t comprehend this. Some departments can’t replace QA or developers or DevOps with Indian candidates because the truly skilled are saying no and walking away. So Nielsen is laying people off with NO ONE to replace them and then pretending all is fine to the investors. Pretend that all those laid off are mo--ns or dummies if you want, whatever. But to lie that replacements are doing just as good as those cut is hilariously not true. And these awful decisions will come to light soon when the quality is exposed and the tech innovation never happens (because almost a year has gone by already with NO innovation). Keep on being rattled that people are speaking the truth. Sh-t is hilarious. You’re d-mb.
Your indignant outrage...
I can only laugh at what these people write! Get a job and stop the bullsh-t you mo--n, or otherwise shut up and be the good reptile you are, KR is counting on you!
The only thing former Nielsen employees have in common with others in the tech industry (Google, Microsoft, Meta) is being on the unemployment line right now.
They will fortunately recover over time and go on to other high paying jobs in the tech industry.
Ex-Nielsen employees? ADT call centers, grocery stores and lawn mowing crews.
I totally agree with the previous poster.
These lowlives doing the same job for 20+ years never moved on with the times and complaining about how picking up a phone and calling people is a highly sought out skill.
The 1980's called. They want their workforce back.
If you id--ts have been toxic all these years why ha e you stayed on so long and just taken it.
Now you are crying because it's the 21st century....
Yiu all probably do calculations using an abacus....
Nielsen employees (mostly ex-employees now) are such a laughing stock. Just read the comments here and you’ll quickly understand why the company slipped so far, and why working with them was so irritating.
Media industry dinosaurs, and those lacking any real education beyond a GED trying to act like they were in the trenches with the likes of Google or Microsoft because they called people at 9 pm and pestered them about their remote controls. Just comical.
It’s actually embarrassing seeing the back and forth here. Just shows others how many low lifes we had to work with.
‘Do you even listen to yourself? Is this how you choose to live your life? Don't you have any principles left?
Yes, you are worse than farm animals, at least those are productive while you go to work everyday only to "plot your strategic departure" which makes no sense at all, you either in or you out, stop thinking you are able to strategize this sh-t!’
Your indignant outrage (you seem concerned for the company???) and groundless presumptions are laughable…I happen to live my life in a very principled manner, and will continue to give 100% to my job as long as I stay— my pay depends upon my productivity, and I approach each day with an aim to capitalize on those rewards (and believe me, I do). So, to speak in your simplistic terms, I’m (still) ‘in’….with full cognizance and confidence about the next steps I’ll be taking once I’m ‘out,’ while you continue to blather on senselessly, referencing a literary analogy with which you obviously lack the ability to grapple— in a classroom, much less a boardroom. You do, however, seem to have intimate knowledge of farm animals (I’ll withhold comments on that, lol), so perhaps you should stick to farmyard endeavors—perhaps go milk a cow?—because you have ineptly and annoyingly managed to ‘milk’ this subject to death!!
And while I and others continue, in your crude terms, ‘to strategize this sh-t’, might I suggest that you go shovel (or better yet, GO EAT) the manure you continue to produce in your tiny little farmyard-of-a-mind….
Anon - I lived the whole Habib show. Made a few people a lot of money (not me). Media biz was bloated and competition absent - now it’s paying. It’s terrible what’s happening to people but don’t blame ‘India’.
Ex empl—- you must have not been here during the Habib era where he personally profited from shipping jobs overseas to India.
This company is desperate to make the numbers look good they have no choice but to outsource en masse
Also I challenge you to find one company who has shrunk itself or outsourced its workforce and been successful
The anti India narrative is so US and embarrassing. Companies been doing this for years. If you’re unhappy, leave. Nielsen will be fine without you
India get fed, US gets sla-ghtered
We’re not farm animals, but individuals plotting their own strategic departure.
Do you even listen to yourself? Is this how you choose to live your life? Don't you have any principles left?

‘i lurk because i hold a grudge and want to see Rao fail.’
Thanks for your honesty! Seems there are a lot of ‘lurkers’ who never expose themselves as current employees (all of whom have their own motives for sticking around) vs ex-employees… ridiculous Animal Farm analogy being one of the most obvious posts by an ex- employee who attributes ridiculous, English 101 motives (really???? , lol) to people still here…We’re not farm animals, but individuals plotting their own strategic departure.
And yeah: we’re all doomed, but doesn’t mean you can’t plan your exit based on trends and analytics….
The rumors I've been hearing is there's going to be a very big round first week of October. They're going to let go most people that they haven't been able to replace with GCC hires, regardless of if they have replacements. This is to "make their numbers work" for Q4.
Everyone I know still at Nielsen is just riding out getting paychecks while doing nothing (innovation is so not happening) and waiting to be cut or is actively looking but the job market is so oversaturated with candidates (role depending) it’s just taking a while to jump. Also hiring will soon slow in some industries due to Q4 / holiday belt tightening and people being out. It’s hard to find a job right now. But I don’t know a single person happy at Nielsen out of the dozen or so coworkers i still talk to (i was cut many months back).
i lurk because i hold a grudge and want to see Rao fail.
Left months ago.
Found a much better job.
Don’t miss a single person.
Pretty much sums it up.
Yeah the layoffs will not end till every US employee is replaced by an offshore person. Offshore mostly never works out but eh time will tell for this company.
The layoffs will never end until everyone is gone
Department?
Across the farm! No animal is safe!
‘I have heard another round of people are gone October 4.’
Department?
I have heard another round of people are gone October 4.
Out of here today after over a quarter century. Good luck to everyone! Wonder how long nielsen has left
Yes, essentially it’s not really about following orders or leadership, because the current leadership clearly doesn’t have anyone’s trust, judging by how things are being handled. It’s true that there are very few reasons to stay at Nielsen right now, so it’s definitely a wise decision to consider moving elsewhere.
Moo!
What is left in the US are those that are willing to follow the pigs (if you get the Animal Farm allegory) so, you won't here much from now on...
