AVGO Severance question

How did the takeover affect severance pay? For those of you let go after the acquisition do you think they payout was better or worse than those let go prior or during. Asking for a friend at Dell.

There is not standard Broadcom answer here. Each acquisition is different, severance is negotiated with each company separately.

I can speak to how this worked in the United States... As part of the acquisition, BC agreed to follow VMW's standard severance policy for US-based employees for up to a year following the transaction. Therefore, there should have been no difference to the severance package an employee would have received if they were RIFd by VMW prior to the transaction, or RIFd by BC within a year of the transaction.

I can't speak to how this worked outside the U.S.
