This seems like such a brutal process to go through. Morale tanking, people looking for jobs on work hours, uncertainty at every turn. I don’t understand how this helps Intel.

Nobody in my group is working
You have not been productive for years, another 10 weeks is ignorable.
You are nothing to them
Dragging this out is the plan. There is no near term catalyst for the financials to improve. Huge one-time (ha) charges can be taken for the reductions to muddy the overall financial picture under the guise of long term savings and Pat can use the restructuring as the excuse to the street (and the board) for at least the next two quarters being bad. Isn't it obvious?
You are assuming that there will be a recovery. Guess again… have a plan to protect yourself and it shouldn’t count on Intel long term. You should be in survival mode.
@sch
Sounds typical for ELT
Just seems like the ELT is shouting themselves in the foot. Need massive productivity but cast a dark cloud that saps morale and puts the entire workforce in a fight or flight response. Seems poorly planned
They are stalling until the buyer(s) come and pick up the pieces.
This is how the big boys value us. How can we even afford such low productive time in this environment ?!? So stupid
