This layoffs is taking too long. No one knows anything. What are they waiting for?

Oct 14 the date for all orgs? All regions?
Were U.S. based HR resources or offshore HR resources affected?
I see some folks from HR team got impacted today.
If you are all so concerned about layoffs why not look for a new job? Why wait around to get laid off?
I've heard oct 14 also mentioned around the office. Seems to be the worst kept secret
It’s confirmed to be 2nd week of October (likely Oct 14). Don’t ask for source; you’re not going to get one. Very few people know the exact date, and those that do don’t post on this forum.
Patience, It will happen Nov. 1 st as it did for me 1 year ago just before Christmas. My management said nothing, claimed they were not involved. The holidays in 2023 were terrible. Its easy to say don't let it bother you but its not about my worth its about closure and going out the way I wanted - not my shXX manager's lame excuse. Not having to watch others on these account teams that did nothing and not having to explain it to my family. Its watching the Arrogant Tech industry and TDC lose control of running a company successfully. On a positive note it made me get my finances in order and I 'm doing better than I thought - I became focused on my financial well being. But I will never forgive those people who treated me the way they did and then lied to my face because they had no courage to be honest. And don't give me that 'its for legal reasons cr-p'. If you get the email and the teams/zoom request smile for the first 3 minutes then tell HR you'll call them back...your not feeling well. Then when you call back set your own demands - don't let them catch you off guard. If anything it helps for closure - get extended medical coverage. Karma, baby, Karma - everything comes Full circle in this 6 degree Chain.
We aren’t hearing any info on the layoffs because the people who have the info don’t post on this site.
Just a good time of the year, when they can destroy someone's life and peace of mind. While taking out more in stocks
