It's ridiculous that corporate is open for the full day. Aetna used to be closed on Black Friday; that changed among the list of so many other benefits that were slashed once bought by CVS.

For those of you that are not aware, there is a Reddit sub that is more appropriate for these kinds of posts. There is a larger audience there and corp does check it.

The site is r/CVS

Walgreens is publicly saying they're doing this as a thank you to employees to give them a day off to be with family. Which we know is a lie, because companies like Walgreens and CVS, don't give a d-mn about employees. Never have, never will. Wags and CVS view employees as an expense they'd like to cut as much as possible. I'm guessing that due to Walgreens current financial woes, (and low stock price) that it makes sense from a cost cutting perspective to save on labor costs for a day. And then it makes it look like they care at the same time. CVS could very well do the same. Whether they will remains to be seen. However, they did have reduced FS hours last year. (while wags was closed as was rite aid). So, they might be headed in the direction of closing, especially if sales aren't great. Why be open if it's slow and you're not making any money. Chips and soda don't pay the bills. Again would be a nice savings on labor costs, especially not having to pay overtime. And given CVS current environment of slash and burn with hours and cost cutting, closing for Thanksgiving is the only way to go.

I’d schedule my sick days... On thanksgiving I’ll have uncontrollable diarrhea.

If pharmacy is closed on thanksgiving then front store should be closed. Simple as that. If the pharmacy is open then front store should have the same hours they have. Easy as that, problem solved. Unfortunately this is CVS we’re talking about…

Not for nothing, but considering 2 bad quarters in a row, closing on Thanksgiving would be a good cost saving move.

Come on CVS! 10 people come in, little sales! You just FORCE! and PUNISH! your employees, for nothing! If RX IS CLOSED FULL CLOSE, IF NOT PUT RX ON, MANDATORY FULL DAY FRONT IS OPEN!

With all the virtue signaling at this company, I’m surprised they don’t follow suit.

@suo+1uxhPQPz BUT there's also the negative PR for staying open when ALL your competitors are closed. (Walgreens, rite aid, Walmart, target) CVS is always looking for good press

The top competitor closing on that day means double the revenue for CVS Thanksgiving 2024. <<< Basically how an Exec thinks.
