Selling S4 Public is like pushing a rope. They need to whack more people in order to reduce overhead while the company shrinks . This will be a perfect way to remove them without press scrutiny .
Yes, SAP will do the same knowing people will quit as a result.
Since SAP is always a follower rather than a leader, keep a closer eye on IBM. A 65-year old veteran friend of mine there, based in North Carolina, just got clipped with their standard severance but no enhanced package. IBM called it a VERP.
CK and HP have a much larger location/office strategy, which is reduce employees in high cost and increase in low cost regions.
WFH is a tenet of Region like North America and Western Europe locations.
Easiest way to get employees back in the office 40 hours a week is to move jobs to locations where Full time attendance is accepted, like APJ and LATAM.
If you are in a high cost location, for many reasons, SAP is looking to minimize its employee footprint in these locations.... not a good place to be going forward.
Musk did this two years ago and then did a mass layoff.
After the mass layoff he then beat a $500MM class action lawsuit from employees demanding a severance payout. They got zip, zero......
Nice work if you can get it.

Nothing would surprise me. Have a back up plan. Plenty of companies are fully remote now. There are entire job boards dedicated to remote work.
Amazon is a sweatshop no matter how much the fan folks sugar coat it.
Personal experience - Had cleared amazon tech interview twice in a gap of around 10 years and decided not to join because something or the other put me off (hidden traits of a toxic company reflects on its employees) and also they took ages to offer a contract. One of my ex-colleagues who joined Amazon was fired after covid hiring spree when they were expecting a child.
Obviously SAP won't require 5 days a week as they don't have enough room. They got rid of buildings based on people working from home some days.
Even before COVID sap had 2 days a week WFH for I users.
Getting people back in the office and actually working will allow companies to cut staff by 50% without losing any productivity.
really persistent about the layoffs huh
this will cascade to every company in the world. fu-k you andy.
