One thing I have noticed over last 14 years, most selfish / bad actors managed to secure their jobs even during reorgs! Shell promotes bullies and let good people go…

“Getting work done through others” was the mantra for many years. This place is so passive-aggressive.
High CEP (SEG) folks have mostly one goal - climbing the ladder and competing with other "emerging leaders" to get ahead using "regular" staff and projects as a means to their end. They are very bright, work very hard and are completely dedicated to "the firm" but serve as bag carriers, yes men/women who parachute in/out of plum assignments so fast that they is no soak time nor any real accountability....just resume building, networking and organizational exposure on steroids. They thrive on re-orgs/process changes - mostly without an understanding of business performance and people fundamentals.
I think most external hires would be wary of Shell given the amount of org churn and a long track turning employees' lives upside down on whim. The leaders Shell could potentially attract will not be the most talented given recent org chaos in the company.
Yep! Just understand this is from the top down. Wael was picked for a top job when he was in his 20s. No amount of failures or inadequacies stopped his ascent. He promoted people with his profile - zero experience high CEP. Can we please have leaders who don't coast on "estimated potential" but instead have a track record for delivering oil? It is our meat and potatoes as a company. It would mean hiring leaders from the outside, because we don't have them internally (in most cases).
It’s true, I agree. I do g get it why it’s called leadership quality but in fact just bloated ego power chasing selfish ones are called leaders. It’s sick
