If merged, who would likely control most of it? AT&T or DISH?

Both companies need money but it can take time before a merger officially happens. No official offer has been made yet via this article. Debt would still be due in Nov.

The merger has not be announced as official so it might not happen. Mergers can take time before they even happen. No one has came out and said anything official

Laughable, and the last grab at trying to salvage what Ch@rlie destroyed. This will not happen, and the most likely end is mass layoffs and shutting down.

If they don’t have finances to pay for q4 operations and q4 starts in a couple of weeks, then wouldn’t they need to do a BK or something to cut costs before Novembers debt due date?

https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/05/tech/verizon-frontier-deal/index.html

Verizon acquired Frontier that had about 20 million customers and that deal cost 20 Billion dollars. If DISH was to buy out Direct, that would be as an estimate somewhere half of that cost because there is half less customers. I think maybe a joint agreement comes out between the companies, one offering services and the other offering it's services.

I doubt dish buys out direct. Dish has a lot of debt due in Nov. Direct has about 11 million subscribers so the deal would cost a lot. Does anyone think AT&T buys out dish? Maybe a joint agreement? I think dish has pride to let it just be bought out. Maybe a merger does not happen.

Echostar is grasping at straws and will try anything in their desparation.

They are both "headaches" for their respective owners, AT&T (DirectTV) and Echostar (Dish).

This has been rumored and even tried and tried again between these two Sattelite providers for many years so I take it with a grain of salt.

Charlie Ergen would appear to have limited negotiating leverage and certainly not the luxury of time. It's good to watch him squirm as his business ethics are widely viewed as unethical and he's negatively impacted many employers lives (including massive layoffs) for decades.

ExhoStar still has the details collectors nipping at its heels for a nearly $2B payment with many Billions more following that all the while the continue to lose millions of TV, streaming and wireless subscribers every year.
