Thread regarding Optum layoffs

UHG/ Optum Offshore problem

I’ve worked for Optum for a few years and have been working healthcare for about 10. No other job has given me the “ ick” the way this company has. Telling members they got denied and that decision was made from someone in the Middle East and when they appealed got denied again from someone in the Philippines. ( the denial emails I get before informing the member state the office location at the bottom of thier signature which I Google) part of me wants to blast this nationwide as I know for a fact no one wants their insurance or loved once’s insurance have decisions being made from
People who are not even in the country and do. Not fully understand the healthcare system we have going on in the U.S. not to mention now they have workforce planning offshored now as well so if you are in a safe department and looking to move up that decision too is made by someone offshore who knows nothing about the team or department ( coming from co workers and myself who got told we qualify for a job position and and interview will be set up, only to never get a email or follow up and when reached out to the offshore worker who Originally sent those emails get a confusing and questionable response that makes absolutely no sense). It is sickening.

They fired my daughter today for no reason. Take your jobs out of the country for cheap labor.

I work with denials and we absolutely get emails from
Over seas stating the member is denied it’s not a system thing. I think in some parts of the company it may be through a system but for appeals it is not. Please don’t tell me this isn’t a thing when this has been my job for five years

This never happened. No one ever personally sends a denial. They’re all done by the system. Lol, I was a QA auditor for 25 years.

Raises have always been low for the past 15 years. Its the accounting trickery you get one off bonus if you see any money. That way its controlled wage liability that does not compound over the years. VA and medicaid the pillars of efficiency NOT. Congress is in on the big scam they will change nothing. He who has the gold makes the rules

Congress needs to pass laws if you take government funds then you need to keep those services in the USA.

Medicare, VA, Medicaid bare minimum

We all need to blast that the largest healthcare in the us is offshoring and people are getting denied services from someone in India. This does need to be addressed publicly and Witty needs to clearly explain why he thinks this is a good idea for those of us in the US. I’m surprised he isn’t in jail yet for the “ hack” of 20 million dollars. That’s why raises were so low this year 🙄

They want to offshore everything, getting proof of the emails can be tricky since HIPPA and the other legal things UHG/ Optum have in pace. Which is funny the only thing they won’t offshore is top management and the lawyers.
