Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Boyd Laptops?!?

Heard they’re finalizing going byod on laptops and taking back the company ones. Like for phones. Comes with a 1 time stipend to pay for your first laptop. Being implemented first thing in 2025.

Close this thread. Absolute BS. Not a chance they would allow that.

I would never let any Enbridge software come on my Personal PC, nothing to hide, but would you trust Enbridge not to monitor every key stroke you make....and that's 24/7... not just during work hours....he-l.... even this site would be flagged....

This is obviously fake .... but I would love this. The ability to have your own laptop, use your own tools / apps to get your work done ... not be bound by what managers/directors/vp say HOW I should get work done.

most consultants I know at our company work this way (and we have ALOT of consultants). maybe that is why our management likes consultants so much .... they get to do whatever they want and are not bound by our rules.

I would whole-heartedly embrace this if enbridge went this way.

I'd be ok with that if the stipend is enough to buy a really nice top of the line personal laptop

Again people making up cr-p… the TIS security protocols are no joke and there are consequences if you accidentally open one of their test phishing emails.

And why would they take back the ones they’ve already issued? This story doesn’t make any sense. I don’t think they’d do this or even could if they wanted but there would be NO advantage to taking back already issued company laptops.

Can’t happen, they will not give employees a penny for anything LOL (also it’s a big risk that even the awful leadership will not be willing to take)

Makes zero sense…. Security controls can’t be enforced on BYOD laptops, no way company does this.

As long as that one time stipend is $2500 and comes every 5 years, I'm good with this
