The art of pushing employees' limits - Optum management style

Keep piling on the work until the employee snaps. Now you've discovered their breaking point. To fix things, simply throw in some nice words, like "You're doing amazing! We need more people like you!" Once they're back at it, just make sure you remember what their absolute limit is. As a reward, grab your bonus and celebrate.

What is it with the low raises? They ,are more profit than any other organization yet the health insurance is worse and raises smaller than everywhere else

Don't forget the tax breaks US companies get to offshore to
Ireland and other countries. When your Irish colleagues work under all the European work rules and protections like requiring months notice before changing jobs for any reason. Being told promotions only can be filled in Ireland. And US government proposing tripling investment from 2 billion to 6 billion in Ireland to 'improve economic relations'. When I tell people my experience they say things like oh yeah I hate it when you call customer service and you can't understand the accents. Maybe you're an accomplished professional with tenure and technical plus business knowledge who was promised a promotion but it is filled by a pleasant bloke who tells the funniest stories in his brilliant brogue. I really liked some of my international colleagues on a personal level but US workers at all levels are getting shafted while our government and big businesses work together to ship their jobs overseas.

When there is an endless supply of onshore people that will submit to abuse and near infinite offshore warm bodies to do the same the game will never stop. Cant make a change when you dont have any leverage

Yes work 50-60hrs a week and weekends whenever the bad managers with poor planning deem you must, just to get a 1% merit increase. The cr-ppy raises and cheap medical benefits from the largest healthcare company in the country is the untold story! Well I tell everyone and so should everyone, that’s one way we can leave this place better than we found it. When it’s well known then maybe they will stop offshoring jobs and treat American workers better!

Its just business been through it many times at other companies. One has to just determine how much of the game you will play before saying peace out.
