Anyone know how the new self service layoff tool works? I know it’s an HR (workday?) ticket managers have to use, but when are managers notified that what they submitted is approved and when it will happen? How are employees going to be notified?

Can confirm what others said about the aug 9 layoffs. My manager’s manager scheduled a 1x1 with me and read it from a script. No hr present on the call. Would not give any real info about why I was chosen. My direct manager did not realize it was happening until after I had the call with her manager. HR sent the details by email later on. Took 30 days for my severance pay to hit.
This was how it worked in August for me. Meeting on Monday, no HR. Last day was that Friday, 9 August. Got an email with some attachments to sign and return. Got my severance pay 20 days later. Never spoke with anyone from HR.
This is how I was laid off. Meeting with manager (no HR) and one week to clear out. Only spoke with him again to say goodbye.
Transforming the HR department into the AIR department.
Taking the human out of Human Resources.
Correct. It’s now an open ticket system for managers to submit and eliminate a position.
This is true. Most managers are reading the script without HR present.
Then you are given a week or two to close yourself out.
I am sure they are working on automating this as much as possible.
This is true from what I’ve heard. Last quarter we laid off HR folks who were handling lay offs. A new process was put into place starting this quarter. Email went out to all managers. This is how lay offs will now be handled.
OP can you provide more details? Cause right now, I'm with "WTF" !
WTF?
