Do you have a lot of unused vacation?

Double dip for as long as you can, then run away cackling maniacally at your evil good fortune.
Or not...
This is an interesting thread.
Officially, Schwab verifies employment through a third party. There is no difference between voluntary separation and voluntary separation. You left. The date was X.
Internally there is a flag for hiring again.
Unofficially? Depends on the players. I would understand if one of my guys left Monday. I'd be shocked they hadn't given me a heads up, but I'd know it's the place and not the team. Others don't have that relationship and might take it personally and seek to retaliate.
Ultimately, no one will care a year from now.
Ghost Protocol, Schwab will only confirm your employment dates.
Ghost them. Schwab needs to see that their toxic behavior has consequences. Don't let them get away with cutting employees to increase the bottom line. Make them hurt to prove that employees can wield some power too.
You're not saving anybody's job by giving notice. Schwab's "leadership" does not know how to repair a sinking ship. They only know how to push people off the boat to slow down the sinking. They will continue to lay off employees to make the bottom line look better and get their bonuses. Destroy families to get a few more bucks so they can indulge themselves even more. Very hateful bunch.
I get that giving 2 weeks notice is a professional courtesy but Schwab does not deserve any. Delete everything on your hard drive and all emails, etc. Throw out important docs - not that Schwab will care as they have so many ex-employee data to deal with. With the way they treat their employees, it's time for them to start eating what they dish out.
Yeah Fu-k all the POs and Managers they can't code, Definitely can't Communicate. I have the upper hand I will Ghost Them. Thanks !
Will Walt give you 2 weeks when he lays you off or walk you out the door that day? They don’t deserve the notice
Do what is best for you! Who cares what Schwab thinks about it.
I don't really need any Stamp of Approval from Anyone at Schwab. I am in my 40s Technically Retired with well
You are 40 not 80.
and Life can big turns , look at Florida condo , market
If the fact that it’s the right thing to do isn’t enough:
Consider making your last day the first of October, so you’ll accrue that month’s vacation hours (which will be paid out to you along with the rest of your unused vacation) in your last paycheck. Additionally, your medical insurance coverage will roll thru the end of Oct.
Which company?
OP asking for a reason not to be a jerk, just because he “can”. Not worth a reply.
Ummm.. I am never coming back to Schwab and I don't really need any Stamp of Approval from Anyone at Schwab. I am in my 40s Technically Retired with well funded 401K and 529s for the kids and a paid off house. Still give 2 weeks ? Why ?
Agree with the rest, give the 2 weeks and just chill and try to provide feedback without fearing retaliation. Your co-workers will appreciate that. If I won the lottery, I'd really let leadership have it during our townhalls.
I think ghosting is a terrible thing to do assuming you provide value at your job. Someone you wouldn't want to be affected will be. Plan on giving two weeks and working less/taking some pto.
I saw so many people leave with zero humility only to pay for it later. We have a way of being humbled when we deserve it. Imagine if you wanted to come back or work with someone again? Don't burn the bridge if you can help it.
Second serious round of layoffs is on October 31st, talk to your manager and get laid off and save a job!
Do not ghost your employer , you may have join his friend, in future .
If background check happened friend of friend donor hire who cheated his friend.
Use this time as your free pay time and have simple but clear good bye
