Micromanaging is Happening

The heat is on, folks. Applying for jobs as I am learning how we are being micromanaged.

Dear leaders are scared about numbers.

Yes, I'm also quietly looking for other opportunities. From what I've seen across various social media platforms, the job market looks terrible right now. So, it doesn't make sense to quit without having anything else lined up.

The job market su-ks. Not everyone can just up and quit. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would like to, but feel trapped because they haven't found the right opportunity yet. I've met several people across Cengage, with different roles that are quietly looking for other opportunities.

Curious how different departments are being micromanaged. Can anyone share a general example without outing yourself? Wonder if there is some sort of playbook that is being followed company wide. Cengage management is quite capable of being evil. Seen ti happen too many times to others. At some point in time management will get rid of enough of their underlings, leaving no one else to manage, which will make their role pointless. They too will be next out the door.

Morale is gone. The culture is one of fear and uncertainty.

Morale's gone, workload's increased, PE daddy wouldn't like any incentives to fix the problem, leaving...the stick.

Well, I guess I have to grunt and bear it, somebody has to pay for my son’s college education. Pass the lube.
