Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Future at dell

What is actually going to happen here with constant weekly layoffs is one thing - majority of staff will quite quit, and won’t put in effort when actually conducting projects as you might not be around to see it through! It’s exactly what dell will deserve, reputation is damaged irreparably, execs haven’t a clue what’s going on, look at storage (who is running it - Travis etc , focus on shiny things and ignore everything else)! Place is a dumpster fire and they can talk about “best places to work” , everyone knows Dell is a cancer and the higher up’s are sadistic people! I actually think they don’t even remotely care about employees welfare (people could end up seriously ill over these events)!

“Nose to the grindstone” doesn’t mean much when senior management says “we want you to reduce salary spend by 33%, don’t care who”. You can have underperforming APJ employees but even if you cut them all, you won’t reach your target.

Quiet quit if you want to be next. Nose to the grindstone if you want to stay. Can’t be any simpler than that.

The future of Dell at a lower level is Out sourced personnel, cheap laborers, minimal training, less than basic computer knowledge or comprehensive thought to deduce any situation... mainly no skill needed. The consumers will catch on they're "not getting what they paid for" and Dell will still make it all out to be sunshine and rainbows.

I hate to agree with this but ya... most of the people I know don't have a lot of hope. In the internal survey BEFORE the most recent round of layoffs had the lowest review I had ever seen. People are sick and tired of the constant layoffs. Dell has barely hired anyone since covid started and the constant layoffs are causing work to pile up. Also trusting an external entity with your future(sales) seems like a poor idea.

We had a manager let go in IDPS. He was the only no-Indian manager. Go figure.

There is no future. It's been that way for a while now. During the "bo-m" years of covid they didn't reinvest into the company or it's people. Instead they were doing the opposite: liquidating assets, buildings, land, etc

Now the bo-m is gone and Dell has nothing to show for it.

100% - Partners flip deals to other vendor’s, happened recently with a Power product and SuperMicro! Dell exec’s are some of the biggest mo--ns you’re likely to come across, just b/c they are high and mighty on calls doesn’t mean they actually are aware of their strategy!

Dell made a bet on Partners to reduce SG&A. The Partners do what’s best for them and play Dell against other h/w mfgers. So now PC sales are declining and Server margin is worst than ever. This is going to blow up sometime soon.
