Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowe’s End Is Here

Customer count has crashed. Specialty Sales have tanked. Lowe’s credit card 5% off is eliminated for many departments. Full time hiring has ceased. The company is rapidly contracting. Melvin’s run has reached its conclusion. Time to find different employment!

They’re desperate in Akron. They can’t get any decent qualified applicants for department supervisors. They’re promoting the Bottom of the Barrel Dregs!!! The store has really went downhill in the past 6 months. All of the qualified employees with experience and tenure are leaving. It’s a sad situation. I’ll be leaving soon myself.

Marvin better start those stock buybacks so he can save his butt. Like he would do anything for the rest of us.

Hyper inflation left people with no money. Living on credit cards and paycheck to paycheck. So either buy a $4 can of soup to eat for the day or shop at Lowe’s ? America has been in a recession for about a year already. The media won’t talk about it because the left wing government wants to lie to America and tell America everything is great. The feds dropped rates 50 points because they know something bad is about to happen. The little spike on the market is the last push before the crash like in 1929. So long part time job at Lowe’s! Going to McDonald’s or Burger King I guess

Then you add in all of the store payroll cost cutting that is going on. Full-time down to 32-35 hours, part-time down to next to nothing. Here's a thought, try closing the stores an hour early. About the only customers we will lose are the drunks looking for a bathroom! But keep those credit card and MVP sign-ups coming like that is really going to turn store sales around!

Store near here in SoMD is also slowing down. It used to consistently be in the Top 20 Sales Volume stores in the US. I retired from there in January.

Lowe's has moved far away from Home Improvement .Never to return ,more focused on Moldy pet supplies ,candy ,bulk sales to slum lords .Toys ,chilled sandwiches and wraps at self check out .I could not believe when I saw MST building the refrigerated cases at Self check out .Our store is a test market for Halloween costumes now too.

Of course the customer count and sales are down! We had a couple of years of incredible performance because of the pandemic when we were one of the few “essential” retailers still open. Then people spent tons of money to do all those projects and maintenance around the house. We were flying high but it was never going to last! I’ve been telling people this for the last two years. There was simply no way to maintain that. It was ALWAYS going to happen. I’m just surprised that it’s taken this long to materialize.

But Marvin still gave out rosy forecasts to investors and promised continuing growth! Now, if this downturn was this obvious to a department supervisor, why wasn’t it to the CEO!? I’m hardly a genius. It was so f@cking obvious that it was painful.

So, why is Ellison still here? That’s the question. It should be the end for him, not Lowe’s.

That’s how it’s looking here in Pennsylvania. Our store is really down to. A lot of employees are leaving.
