@1bsg, it was the best, we had foosball and leather reclining chairs and massive tvs to show company propaganda on. No idea why they would close such a place :)
i worked for intel for 25 years. there is a research facility in shannon? who would've known. wish i'd worked there. sounds like a place to hide that nobody gave a sh-t about.
Just one of many site closures based on under utilisation post covid mainly …. I am curious if they are still planning to ‘open’ the R&D center in France still …. That’s the stupidest and most expensive place in the world to open an R&D center - particularly from an employee / layoff perspective …
The lease is close to expiring on that building and it made sense to pull the shutters. Low attendance rates and hight rental costs made the decision a straightforward one.
None of the sites closing were told until after VSP/ERP window closed.
They told them it was going to close after the VSP ER window closed. 🤨
